Postcard of a soldier, holding a small blue envelope. The card was sent to Prince Edward of Wales, later King Edward VIII, by his grandmother Queen Alexandra.

There is a note folded into the envelope which reads: 'My darling little David. Many thanks for yr pretty postcard here is one in return. I am looking forward to seeing you very soon at dear old Sandringham where I hope you all are well & happy. Gpapas best love ? old loving Granny'.
