This large Boulle writing desk was reported to have belonged to William III (1650–1702) and had been at George IV's former residence, Carlton House. Together with two other Boulle tables in the room it was originally lined with green velvet, but this was later replaced by leather. The desk is veneered with grotesques, birds, animals and arabesques.
