Shortly after their marriage, Sally Forbes Bonetta and James Pinson Labulo Davis settled in Lagos, where he became a member of the Legislative Council from 1872–4. Their eldest daughter, shown here around 1870, was born in 1863 and named after Queen Victoria, who also became her godmother.
