Bamba Müller was born in 1848. She was educated at the American Presbyterian Mission school at Cairo, where she later became an instructress. She married Duleep Singh at the British Consulate, Alexandria on 7 June 1864. They established a home at Elveden Hall, Suffolk and had three sons and three daughters.
