Prince Alamayou from album 'Expedition to Abyssinia, 1867-1868' April-May 1868
RCIN 2500936
During the Abyssinia Campaign, photography by the Royal Engineers was especially praised by contemporary reports for bringing the 'art-science' of photography to military campaigns. This image shows a photograph of a sketched portrait of Prince Alamayou. The prince is shown seated wearing a robe and necklace.
