Photograph of the Ordnance Wharf at Balaklava. In the foreground there are piles of cannonballs, along with logs and a cannon. There is a group of men standing to the right and two ships in the harbour behind. On the hillside to the right there are a number of buildings. Huge supplies of ammunition, or ordnance, were needed for the Siege of Sevastopol. The British received their supplies through the small port town of Balaklava.
