The Scutari Monument (a 100 ft obelisk), in the British cemetery in Istanbul, commemorates British soldiers who lost their lives in the Crimean War. Victoria, Albert and Victoria’s cousin George, Duke of Cambridge (a commander in the war), presided over a ceremony in London unveiling a full-sized model of the monument, as depicted here.
