Prince Albert's walking sticks incorporate a wide range of materials, styles and nationalities, many of which reflect his other artistic interests as well as his travels. This stick, mounted in ivory with a scene of hounds pursuing a fox, is typical of the detailed ivory carving produced in Germany and Austria in the nineteenth century.
