A watercolour showing a view from Queen Victoria's sitting room at Osborne House. A grassy hill is shown in the foreground with the sea shown below. Trees are shown in the centre of the hill. Inscribed below: View from my sitting room Window at Osborne. Inscribed lower right: VR del Aug: 24. 1848. A double pen and ink line border is shown around the edge of the mounted sheet. In her journal entry of 24 August 1848, Queen Victoria describes how she had "A lesson from [her drawing master William Leighton] Leitch" while staying at Osborne House.
