At the centre of the Indian display was the magnificent Travancore throne, lent by the Queen. Other exhibits included rich velvet carpets and the costume of the Raja of Bundi (left). The Art Journal described a second version of this watercolour, exhibited by Nash in 1852, as ‘captivating’.
