Queen Victoria’s costume for the 1845 Bal Costumé was made by the royal dressmakers M. and Mlle Vouillon et Laure. The Queen was so delighted with the dress that she commissioned a number of portraits of herself wearing it, as well as sketching it in her Journal.

Commissioned by Queen Victoria for her Portrait Album
