      BENJAMIN LEWIS VULLIAMY (1780-1854)

      The weeping women candelabra

      1811

      RCIN 2717

The Vulliamys were the Prince’s main suppliers of decorative objects. The firm specialised in clocks until the 1790s (when they began to produce bronze goods generally), always of the highest quality. Often their role would be one of assembling parts contracted to different craftsmen; twenty-one were involved in the production of these candelabra alone.

      Purchased by George IV, 1814
