CHARLES WILD (1781-1835)

The Vestibule, Carlton House.

RCIN 922172

The striking octagonal Vestibule was the first room entered by a visitor leaving the Entrance Hall. The Grand Staircase can be seen to the left, through a draped arch. The Vestibule was decorated with busts of Whig politicians, among them Charles James Fox, who had supported the Prince of Wales’s demands to be made Prince Regent.
