This table was originally intended by George IV for the Crimson Drawing Room, one of the most spectacular new spaces at Windsor and one which formed the climax of the King’s ambitious redecoration campaign. The maker is likely to have been François-Honoré-Georges Jacob-Desmalter, who was employed by the partnership of Morel & Seddon to assist with the enormous commission.
