The Ballroom, at the south-west corner of the Principal Floor, was made into the Throne Room when the Prince of Wales became Prince Regent in 1811. The splendid Council Chairs, one example shown to the right, were placed here in early 1813, and can be seen in this view alongside the carved and gilded pedestals which line the long walls.
