JEREMIAH MEYER (1735-89)

George III (1738-1820)

c.1775

RCIN 420184

This miniature shows George III in his late 30s and depicts the king almost full face, allowing Meyer to deploy his technical skills to great effect. The drawing of the facial features is especially fine and the modelling remarkably deft around the nose, mouth and chin.
