Crown of the Emperor Bahadur Shah II

The Emperor Bahadur Shah was the last Mughal Emperor, deposed after the Indian Mutiny of 1857. The Emperor’s jewels and relics were sold at an auction in Delhi and the purchaser, Major Robert Tytler, offered this crown to Queen Victoria. The crown would have been worn with a turban wound around the lower part.
