A presumed self-portrait

c. 1575-80

As a young man Annibale Carracci, together with his brother Agostino and cousin Ludovico, founded an informal academy in Bologna that emphasised drawing from the life as the foundation of artistic practice. This is thought to be a self-portrait by Annibale.
