The Queen visits the 16th Parachute Brigade

24 Apr 1967

RCIN 2943907

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, made her first visit to the 16th Parachute Brigade at Aldershot in Hampshire in April 1967. The Queen reviewed the troops, after which she and The Duke watched displays given by the men of the Brigade, including a demonstration of the aerial delivery of guns and vehicles. As the royal car departed down a metal trackway in the Long Valley training area, members of the Brigade waved their berets and bade farewell to their royal visitors.
