The Queen opens the National Tennis Centre at Roehampton

29 Mar 2007

RCIN 2943908

The National Tennis Centre at Roehampton in south-west London is the Lawn Tennis Association’s high performance training facility. It was officially opened by The Queen, who is Patron of the LTA, in 2007. In order to capture this unusual view of The Queen, the photographer had to jump the barrier behind which he and all the other photographers were gathered. He managed to take a couple of pictures before being escorted back by security, but he had his shot. The Queen appears to be quite alone, but of course she is not – those accompanying Her Majesty stand to her

left, just out of the picture.
