The Braemar Gathering, Deeside

2 Sep 2006

RCIN 2943874

In 1849 Queen Victoria became the first Patron of the Braemar Gathering. Today the Royal Family continues to enjoy this annual event, which includes such spectacles as caber-tossing, stone-putting and highland dancing. The large crowds which attend each year salute their monarch as Chieftain of the Gathering. The Queen and her son and daughter-in-law (whose Scottish titles are The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay) are seen here at the 2006 Gathering.

The income from your ticket contributes directly to The Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity.
