Her Majesty The Queen at the State Opening of Parliament

15 Nov 2006

RCIN 2943883

Every year, usually in November or early December, the Sovereign drives in state to the Palace of Westminster for the State Opening of Parliament. The Queen is pictured here wearing the Diamond Diadem, originally made for George IV in 1820. For the ceremony itself she wears the Imperial State Crown.
