The Badminton Horse Trials is a three-day event which has taken place in April or May each year since 1949 in the park of Badminton House, the seat of the Dukes of Beaufort in Gloucestershire. In this photograph The Queen is pictured off-duty, enjoying one of her favourite pastimes, and The Duke of Edinburgh has found the perfect viewing point.
