Boys peeping at Nature 1730
This is the design for Hogarth’s subscription ticket (above). The drawing is partly based on a painting of Nature adorned by the Graces by Peter Paul Rubens and Jan Bruegel, which was in the collection of Hogarth’s father-in-law, Sir James Thornhill, and is now at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow.
