'The Music Party': Frederick, Prince of Wales with his Three Eldest Sisters

The Prince of Wales (1707–51) is here shown in a fashionable interior playing the cello, accompanied by his sisters, Anne (1709–59) on the harpsichord and Caroline (1713–57) on the mandora (a type of lute). Princess Amelia (1711–86) reads a volume of Milton’s poems.
