In June 1633, the Mughal imperial family were watching an elephant fight when one of the elephants broke loose. Soldiers attempted to deflect it with fireworks but it charged towards Prince Aurangzeb who defended himself with his spear. Shah-Jahan subsequently awarded Aurangzeb the title bahadur (champion) for his bravery.
