Jewellery from India usually incorporated elements of nature in its iconography. The turban ornament mimics the feather, a symbol of royal status from the Mughal courts, and the ear ornaments emulate flowers. Turban ornaments were usually worn by men, and ear ornaments such as these were worn by women.
