Many of the gifts made from silver and gold were produced using a variety of techniques and skills for which the Indian subcontinent was held in high regard.
These gifts include objects that were typically used within the Indian court, but became sought after by Europeans due to their high standard of craftsmanship. Forms and designs were adapted by Indian craftsmen to cater for the growing European presence in India.
