The Orders Services

The Englishman Francis Gardner established his porcelain factory in Russia in 1766. Catherine II placed a significant commission with Gardner in 1777 for services decorated with the insignia of the Russian orders of chivalry. They were used once a year at the Winter Palace when the knights of the orders dined on the saint’s day of their order.
