This family group portrait of Queen Victoria’s daughter, Princess Alice, her husband Grand Duke Louis and their children, includes Princess Alix, future Empress of Russia. Also portrayed is her sister Princess Elizabeth (Ella), who, like her sister, married into the Romanov family, when she wed Grand Duke Sergei in 1884.
