Presentation ring with a miniature of Emperor Nicholas I (1796-1855)

This richly enamelled ring with the miniature of the Emperor beneath a portrait diamond, was given as an official gift to a high-ranking Russian military officer during Nicholas I’s review of the 3rd Cavalry Corps at Kaluga on 29 September 1834.
