John Ber (also known as Beer) worked for both the Russian court and for Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, brother-in-law to Maria Feodorovna. This atmospheric watercolour depicts the Empress in a traditional Russian sleigh, driven across the Anichkov Bridge in St Petersburg.

Possibly acquired by Queen Alexandra when Princess of Wales.
