This pair of plates are later additions to the Minton service, commissioned by Queen Victoria to furnish the Imperial Yacht Queen Victoria, which was presented to Emperor Nicholas I. The additions to the service were made by the Gardner porcelain factory, established in Russia by Francis Gardner in 1766.
