Mounted with the diamond-set imperial double-headed eagle, this case is enamelled in the guilloché technique, copying French eighteenth-century prototypes. The surface metal has been engraved with a pattern to which layers of coloured enamel are applied.

Purchased by Queen Mary in 1928 and given to King George V
