This Golden Wedding Anniversary portrait was taken in the White Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace. The photographer Brian Aris is well known for his portraits of celebrities including the rock stars Mick Jagger and Bob Geldof. In the foreground is the roll top desk made by J.-H. Riesener, originally bought by King George IV in 1825 for his sitting room at Windsor Castle.
