HRH THE PRINCE OF WALES (B. 1948)

Mountainscape sketch

RCIN 300106

Before the Prince of Wales starts to paint, he often makes a preparatory sketch in red ink. These sketches were made in preparation for two of the watercolours displayed on the wall above, and show Lochnagar and Loch Cauder respectively. They have been annotated to record the direction of the light and to remind His Royal Highness to use a certain colour in the final watercolour.
