A design for the front and side of the organ at the east end of the Ball Room in Buckingham Palace. This is one of a series of designs for the Ball Room and Supper Room by Sir James Pennethorne in 1852, approved by Prince Albert (see also RCIN 922076 - '82 and RCIN 922084 - '02) although this particular drawing is not dated. The Ball Room was added to Buckingham Palace in a new south-west block built between 1852 and 1855, as part of plans to give more space to Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their growing family.
