Queen Victoria’s intention to institute the Baltic Medal was announced on 6 June 1856. It was awarded to those involved in the operations in the Baltic Sea during 1854 and 1855. The ribbon is yellow with pale blue edges; that of the Crimea Medal pale blue with yellow edges.
