Prince Philip of Greece

1922

RCIN 250110

Prince Philip was born on 10 June 1921 on the island of Corfu in the Mediterranean. He was the youngest child of Prince and Princess Andrew of Greece. In September 1922 a military coup resulted in the abdication of King Constantine I, the elder brother of Prince Andrew. Prince Philip’s father was accused of treason and the family was forced into exile. This photograph was taken in Athens when the infant Prince was about one year old.
