Prince Philip’s solo engagements in the United Kingdom were often in support of science, engineering, industry and the armed forces. A selection of gifts from these engagements are displayed in the exhibition with a desk used by the Prince since his marriage. In his work Prince Philip was supported by a small team of staff, including a Private Secretary. The Prince wrote his own speeches and, on occasion, issued his own statements of support in reaction to current events.
