    Prince Philip was invested as a Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, the oldest and highest order of chivalry in the United Kingdom, by his future father-in-law, King George VI, a few days before his wedding to Princess Elizabeth in 1947. St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, is the spiritual home of the Order of the Garter.
