Prince Philip, a champion of modern design, was introduced to the architect and designer Hugh Casson in the 1950s. Casson advised on the interior design for HMY Britannia and for Prince Philip’s Study at Buckingham Palace, and he designed a small group of guest rooms for official visitors to Windsor Castle, which is known today as the Casson Suite.
