This is a presentation copy of Austin’s poem for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897. The book was bound by the famous binder Zaehnsdorf and is tooled with VRI (Victoria Regina Imperatrix, Victoria Queen Empress of India) motifs. The book bears an inscription by Austin: ‘To The Best and most loved of Monarchs from Her Poet Laureate, Alfred Austin. With Humble Duty’. Presented to Queen Victoria by Alfred Austin, 1897
