This is a beautifully decorated copy of the poem written to celebrate Princess Elizabeth’s wedding in 1947. Masefield’s poem expresses the importance of the Crown to Britain and to her allies and dependents, and the sense of security, renewal and future regeneration symbolised by Princess Elizabeth as heir to the throne, and a bride-to-be. Presented to Queen Elizabeth II when Princess Elizabeth on the occasion of her wedding by John Masefield, 1947
