Queen Mary's Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara

Presented by the ‘Girls of Great Britain and Ireland’ to Princess Victoria Mary of Teck, later Queen Mary (1867-1953). In 1947 Queen Mary gave the tiara to her granddaughter, Princess Elizabeth, as a wedding present. The Queen had the upper section and bandeau reattached in 1969 and the tiara has since become one of her most recognisable jewels.
