Queen Mary's Dorset bow brooch

Diamond-set brooches replicating a ribbon tied in a bow became very popular in the mid-nineteenth century. This naturalistic example, a gift from the county of Dorset to Queen Mary in 1893 was given to Princess Elizabeth as a wedding present in 1947.
