The Swiss Cottage, Osborne House

The Swiss Cottage was built in the grounds of Osborne House in 1853 – 4. Inside, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s children were taught cooking and carpentry. Outside, small rectangular plots were laid out for the children, where they were taught how to grow flowers, fruit and vegetables.
