Buckingham House in St James's Park belonging to the Most Noble and Potent Prince John Sheffield, Baron of Botterwick, Earl of Mulgrave

1714

RCIN 702778

This etching shows the imposing new forecourt of Buckingham House, with sweeping iron railings and ornamental gates fashioned by the French ironmaster Jean Tijou, who also created the ironwork railings at Hampton Court Palace. In the centre of the forecourt is an octagonal basin and a fountain with Neptune riding his seahorses.
