This portrait of Prince Charles was modelled on the famous painting by Van Dyck of Charles I in three positions, which is part of the Royal Collection. It was commissioned by The Prince of Wales as a hundredth birthday present for his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
