THOMAS ROWLANDSON (1757-1827)
Old Kew Palace

A new ‘Gothic’ palace at Kew was designed for George III by James Wyatt and begun in 1802. It remained unfinished and was demolished in 1828. Rowlandson made two watercolours of the palace from across the river Thames.
